The passengers travelling on a Wokha town-bound Nagaland State Transport's bus had a ‘narrow’ escape today as the vehicle rolled 115 metres down a gorge near Rengma-Wokha border.

“Around 10 passengers who were inside the bus sustained minor injuries while one of them who was in a critical condition was shifted to a hospital in Kohima,” the Wokha Police informed.

The bus was proceeding to Wokha town from Phiro Village, under Wozhuro Circle of Wokha district.

According to the police, the accident occurred in the morning at around 8:00 am when the bus stopped due to mechanical failure.

However, only some passengers had managed to get down when the bus capsized and rolled down when it was stationary at the roadside, a few kilometers away from Wokha town, the police added.

Luckily, all the passengers, barring one, sustained minor injuries according to the police.
