DIMAPUR, MAY 1 (MExN): A much needed requirement for the picturesque village of Zhavame village under Phek district was fulfilled with the formal inauguration of Buvi Homestay on April 29 by Dr Andrew Ahoto Sema, Chairman of Livingstone International foundation was the special Guest.

The proprieters of the Homestay, Bunyi Krocha and Truvi Rhi, took Dr Sema and his team to the famed Mt Kapamodzu peak before the opening of the homestay.

Dr Andrew Ahoto, in his speech, expressed the beauty of Kapamodzu peak as a God gifted natural beauty of Zhavame and the potential of Zhavame becoming one of the most sought after destinations for tourists in the state. He shared what tourists expect from homestay owners and various other ideas to have more of such facilities in the village.

He meanwhile said that education should not be limited to bookish knowledge alone but emphasis should also be given in acquiring multiple skills for the overall development of an individual. He added that every individual is unique and has been gifted with a special talent.

Bunyi Krocha shared how the name Buvi (an acronym of him and his partner Bu for Bunyi and Vi for Truvi) was coined; and why they started this initiative in the village upon returning to the village after completing their graduation. Buvi also means a nice place or a wonderful stay in Poula dialect.

Buvi Homestay is a branch of the Buvi Enterprise and will be providing tour guides, taxi services to/from Kohima or Dimapur and tents on rent. Bookings can be made through calls or WhatsApp at +918118919018.

A community library in collaboration with Community Library, Kigwema was also inaugurated on the same day. The concept of having this facility in the village was brought to our state by two brothers, Akho and Thepfukelie Phira at Kigwema village in August 2021.

The objective of a community library is to encourage the youngsters to pick up the habit of reading books and make books readily available. Quoting Harry S. Truman, Bunyi Krocha shared that, "All readers are not leaders but all leaders are readers.”

He envisioned that this concept would reach every nook and corner of the state. The special guest later donated two copies of his recently published book titled ‘3C SOS The final answer.’
