List shows 22,390 electors; poll date awaited
Kohima, February 14 (MExN): The final electoral roll with reference to January 1, 2026 as the qualifying date was published on February 14 for the 28-Koridang Assembly Constituency (AC) under Mokokchung district, where a bye-election is due.
According to a notification issued by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Nagaland, the roll was published by the concerned Electoral Registration Officer.
As per the final published roll, the total number of electors in 28-Koridang AC stands at 22,390, comprising 22,266 general electors and 124 service electors. Of the 22,266 general electors, 11,253 are male and 11,013 are female. Among the service electors, 123 are male and one is female. There are no registered third gender (TG) electors in the constituency.
The combined total of male electors is 11,376, while female electors number 11,014, the notification added.
The CEO informed that the final electoral rolls can be viewed or downloaded from the official website of the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland (https://ceo.nagaland.gov.in) and the Election Commission of India’s voter portal (https://voters.eci.gov.in).
The notification was issued under No. ELE/REV-58/2023-26 and dated February 14, 2026.
The 28-Koridang AC seat has been vacant following the demise of the sitting MLA, Imkong L Imchen, on November 11, 2025 after a brief illness. Consequently, the Nagaland Legislative Assembly declared the seat vacant with effect from November 12, 2025, necessitating a bye-election for the constituency.
However, the date for the bye-election is yet to be announced.
