Dimapur, February 16 (MExN): BZ Entertainment has completed 121 street play performances across Nagaland in partnership with the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS), marking a significant effort in raising HIV awareness and combating stigma.
The campaign began on November 17, 2023, at Super Market in Dimapur and concluded on February 15, 2025, in Peren district. Over the course of the initiative, BZ Entertainment staged 10 performances in each participating district, delivering messages on HIV transmission, prevention, and the importance of testing.
Each play was designed to educate communities while addressing misconceptions about HIV/AIDS. On-site HIV testing and counseling services were available at the events through the Mobile Integrated Counseling and Testing Centre (MICTC) team, ensuring audience members had access to confidential testing and support. Contact details for District Programme Officers (DPOs) were also displayed to provide further resources.
The initiative reached multiple districts, including Dimapur, Kohima, Niuland, Chümoukedima, Tseminyu, Noklak, Kiphire, Peren, and Tuensang. Organizers reported strong community engagement at each event.
BZ Entertainment said the milestone highlights the role of art in public health advocacy and reaffirmed its commitment to using performance as a tool for social change.
