The Women Department of the Ao Baptist Church Conference (ABAM) is holding a four day training programme at the North East Social Forum, Kharghuli, Guwahati from February 9-12, 2012. A press release received here today informed that the training is being sponsored by the Women Department of the Dimapur Ao Baptist Church (DABA) and 123 associate pastors (women) are taking part in the training.
Giving a brief highlight of the training, the release informed at a main speaker at the training, Pastor L. Lima Jamir, while delivering a speech on the topic, ‘the role of an associate pastor women in today’s’ context’, exhorted the audience that in today’s world the role of a church worker has become very vast and vital. He maintained that the society is looking towards the church as the only hope in the world; and in such a situation, it is very important to press forward and serve the Lord, without thinking whether one is a male or female.
Secondly, he maintained that church workers should not only concentrate on ‘pulpit ministry’ but also know the spiritual health of the believers with the change of times and serve accordingly for the glory of the Kingdom of God. A church worker should know the condition of every family in the congregation and deliver appropriately the word of God according to the condition of the families.
However, he cautioned the gathering to stand steadfastly on the words of God and unceasingly pray while delivering the word of God all for the glory of the Almighty God. The release further disclosed that other main speakers at the training are ABAM Executive Secretary, Rev Dr Mar Atsongchanger, Temsüla Secy ABAM-WD and others.
