Camp for Children with Disabilities held at Wokha

Mega Identification & Assessment Camp for Children with Disabilities was held at Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital, Wokha on August 26.

To commemorate the 5th anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Education Mission Society Samagra Shiksha organised a Mega Identification & Assessment Camp for children with disabilities at Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital, Wokha on August 26.

More than a hundred special children, including government school students and those receiving home education, availed the services where they were provided incentives along with free medical check-ups and assessments.

District Inclusive Education (IE) Coordinator, Wokha, T Ezantthung Lotha, informed that the students were thoroughly examined by government doctors who assessed the percentage of their disabilities and accordingly issued disability certificates. He further informed that the certified students would be able to avail government services and benefits including travel concessions.

The medical camp was led by Dr. N. Mhonchan Kithan, Medical Superintendent, Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital, Wokha, along with seven other medical officers from different departments.
