The Civil Service Forum Club, Immanuel College Dimapur in collaboration with Geology, Economics and Education Department organised a “Lecture on Civil Service Career” at the College Conference Hall, on October 12. The resource person was Dr Meyingangla, the college’s Counsellor, who spoke on preparing  for National and State level competitive exams. Sungjemmong Jamir HoD, Economics and Athisii, Dean of Student also highlighted some books to refer to while preparing for competitive exam. The programme was chaired by Abeni HoD, Education, while invocation was pronounced by Paukizonne Mariam, Asst Prof Education Department. It ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Esther, Asst Prof Geology, Convenor Civil Service Forum Club.
ADC Shamator B Henok Buchem visited the Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) and Community Health (CHC Shamator) on October 12. Interacting with the students and teachers at the school, he encouraged students that there future are not determined by the school buildings, remote area or facilities etc but setting a goal precisely that one day the future belongs to them. The ADC also appreciated all the teaching staffs for their devotion as the result of the GHSS Shamator is encouraging. He also inspected the school building and feel requires improvement of infrastructure.  Later he visited Public Health Centre (PHC) Shamator and interacted with Medical officer and staff. The Peren College NAAC Assessment and Accreditation Meeting was held on October 12 with the Deputy Commissioner Peren, Sentiwapang Aier  presiding over the proceeding. As per its website, the college was established as a private college on April 13, 1987 through the “joint efforts of the local public leaders and government officers of the then Peren Sub-Division with the objective to bring the socially, economically and educationally less advantaged people of the sub-division.” Provisionally affiliated to Nagaland University since 1995, the PGC was taken over by the Government of Nagaland on February 1, 2006 and offers graduate degree in Arts stream.
