Dimapur, November 28 (MExN): A six-month campaign that offers adolescents exclusive opportunities to develop their skills, interests, knowledge was launched in Dimapur on Monday.
The launch programme was organised by Can Youth at Buna Cafe, Namgalong Colony with special guests Kuhoi Yepthomi, Advisor, Can Youth and Mughato Aye, President, Dimapur District Football Association.
According to a press release, the Campaign which would commence from December 2022 to May 2023, would offer exclusive opportunities to the adolescents towards developing their skills, interests, knowledge and in creating innovating ideas. The target is set at 1000 adolescents and would carry six different topics and programmes aimed at enhancing their potential and empowering their rights. The purpose is to create advocacy, ownership, leadership in bringing social development and changes, it said.
On the occasion, Kuhoi Yepthomi gave thanks to God and maintained that while everyone may participate with whatever knowledge they have; success and accomplishments would come when God is put first. “Don’t have too high expectations, but rather do what we can and leave the rest to God,” he said while encouraging the Can Youth team to work with commitment.
Mughato Aye, meanwhile, said he had been aware of the organisation’s activities and said that he had always admired for all the wonderful deeds it has accomplished. Though there may be many challenges along the path, whether financial or in other ways, do not give up and do not stop trying, he said while advising them to bless others through their good works.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Sumit Das, Office Assistant, Can Youth and Sukolie, Facilitator, Can Youth invoked God’s blessings. The welcome address and introduction about the campaign was delivered by Jenpu Rongmei, Founder and Chief Functionary, Can Youth. Zhove Lohe, Secretary, Adolescent Campaign & Board member, delivered the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to the special guests and other board members, the release stated.
