Capi Krotho built welfare building in Kohima

Nagaland Technical Education & Election Advisor Medo Yhokha inaugurated the Capi Krotho Dzevi Ki (welfare building) at Kitsubozou, Kohima on October 2. 

Capi Krotho is an association of the retired Dobashis (DBs) of the Angami community while their building will have a mini library with customary laws as well as the traditional and cultural artifacts of the Angamis from the four regions – Northern, Southern, Western and Chakhro. Capi Krotho officials informed that the customary laws of the Angami tribe as well as the traditional and customary practices from the four regions would be documented and preserved in the library.

Speaking on the occasion, Yhokha while saying that the rich culture and tradition practiced by the forefathers is slowly being forgotten, stressed on the need to preserve it and pass on to the younger generation. Culture and tradition is one’s identity and we should never lose it, he said while expressing hope that the efforts of Capi Krotho in documenting the customary laws as well the traditional practices of the forefathers would be a boon for the future generation. This would also help not only the youngsters but also researchers and scholars in understanding the Angami tradition, said Yhokha.

MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro in his brief address while lauding the efforts of the Capi Krotho termed it as a positive effort towards preservation of the culture and tradition of the Angami people from the four regions. He also assured to extend support in their cause.

Visesie Pier delivered the presidential address while Medongulie Rutsa chaired the programme.

Capi Krotho treasurer Keneizezo Yiese presented the building construction report while Khrunyü Rino proposed vote of thanks.
