Dimapur, April 22 (MExN): A one day seminar on career counselling under SPEED programme organized by the Department of Land Resources was held today in the office premises of District Project Officer, Land Resources, Dimapur.
Forty-five students from four villages – Kiyezu, Khekiho, Pishikhu and New Chumukedima attended the seminar wherein Communication Trainer, Ela Susan James was the resource person. The seminar was conducted under the supervision of Hekato N, DPO, Land Resource, Dimapur.
Ela Susan James gave a practical guide to the participants on how to make the right career choice. Topic covered during the day included developing a positive attitude, making a commitment to explore the options available, being open to learning, study and stay informed on current trends etc.
The resource person observed that the students are eager to learn about careers that are aligned to their talents and skills.
The programme was chaired by Vanjamo Murry. Chathavise Terhuja gave a brief introduction about the aims and objectives of the programme. Botoholi proposed vote of thanks.
The four villages of Dimapur district are part of 50 villages across the state adopted by the department under SPEED (Special Programme on Environment and Economic Development) programme which the department of Land Resources launched commemorating the 50 years of Nagaland statehood.
