Caution over ‘divine revelations’

Dimapur, August 14 (MExN): The Chakhesang Council of Christian Revival Churches today issued a statement advising prudence in considering ‘divine revelations’ as well as asking for both “overground” and underground sections to seek the Holy Spirit.

The all departmental coordination meeting of the Chakhesang CRC was held during July 25-26. The CRC said the house deliberated and maintained that it not simple for the common people to apprehend or judge divine revelations at the human intellectual level and views. “Sometimes, we humans being annoyed with God to a great extent when judging the divine revelations, because of human harden (sic) heart. Sometimes, our people are swayed by uncertain emotional revelations,” the CCCRC stated.

At this very juncture, the council said, one has to beseech the guidance of the Holy Spirit as said in Exodus 23:20, 21 (“I am going to send an angel in front of you, to guard you on the way and to bring you to the place that I have prepared. Be attentive to him and listen to his voice; do not rebel against him, for he will not pardon your transgression, for my name is in him.”)

The CRC said leaders of the Naga people both underground and “overground” should seek the guidance of God’s Holy Spirit, to lead the people into the promised land. “They should appreciate the way the members of various prayer groups who have invested their times and energy in fasting and prayer for the Naga Nation. At the same time, the house warned the public leaders to be watchful over the various prayer groups that all the glittering objects are not gold.” It also cautioned that any preacher or prophet who is “loitering around in persuasion of personal gain” in the guise of prophet or preacher is not from the true God.

The council appeals to all public leaders, officers, contractors and politicians not to shy away from contributing their due towards genuine mission projects. “Because many unscrupulous politicians and government officers used to siphon off crores of rupees at the cost of the rural poor people, who neither approach the government officers nor ministers’ bungalow for several decades together,” the council stated.

A number of resolutions were undertaken. All heads of departments are to keep in touch with the council when necessary fund drives have to be carried out. Legislators, contractors, officers and public leaders are asked to be alert in identifying persons or groups to which he belongs – CRC, Baptist, CC, Shisha Hoho, Nagaland Prayer groups or any other.

All pastors under the Council of Chakhesang CRC are directed to supervise the revelations according to the scripture and its context before carrying it out and only entertain Gospel touring teams with proper permission from the respective local churches authority. These actions are to be taken to keep the sanctity of the church, the CCCRC added.
