Sovima, June 25 (MExN): The 1st Inter School Badminton Tournament was organised by Chümoukedima District Badminton Association (CDBA) under the theme ‘Talent Hunt’ at Tetso Arena, Sovima on June 22 and 23.
With the Badminton star of Nagaland state, Joseph Sumi (NPS), Assistant Commandant as the special guest, the tournament witnessed the competition of 12 schools with 167 students participating in different age categories.
During the inaugural programme, the special guest reminded the students that there is no alternative to hard work. Sumi highlighted the need to have a sports policy in the state, which he was optimistic about its implementation in the near future.
The closing ceremony was graced by Hyunilo Anilo Khing, Honorary Secretary, Nagaland Cricket Association.
Hope Academy emerged the Over All Champion of the tournament.
