Dimapur, June 21 (MExN): The PWD/Supply Sumi Students' Union organised its first Felicitation Programme-cum-Career Guidance Session at the E Space Conference Hall near SBI Rangapahar Branch, Dimapur, under the theme "Navigate. Aspire. Achieve."
According to a press release, the programme aimed to recognise academic excellence, honour achievers, and provide students with career awareness, mentorship and guidance to help them make informed decisions about their future.
The programme was chaired by Women Co-ordinator Liula Huska, with Nito Kiho, representative of the Dimapur Sumi Students' Union (DSSU), serving as secretary. The invocation was delivered by Nitoho Chophy, Prayer Convenor, while the welcome address was delivered by Union President Tova Kiba.
Advisor Mughato Swu, in his introductory note, highlighted the importance of creating supportive platforms for students, nurturing talent and guiding young people towards opportunities suited to their aspirations and abilities.
A special number by Joint Secretary Nikito Kiho was followed by a felicitation ceremony honouring meritorious students and achievers for their academic accomplishments.
Assistant Director and Geologist, Government of Nagaland, Dr Khekuto Kiho attended the programme as the special guest and keynote speaker. Addressing the gathering, he shared experiences from his professional journey and encouraged students to remain focused, develop their skills, embrace learning opportunities and pursue their goals with discipline and determination.
A career guidance session conducted by Mahendra's Coaching Centre, Dimapur, covered career planning, emerging opportunities, competitive examinations and various professional pathways.
General Secretary K Vinika Achumi delivered the vote of thanks, while the programme concluded with a benediction by Obed Muru.
