Dimapur, February 14 (MExN): A meeting in connection with the conduct of census phase II (population enumeration) was held on February 10, 2010 in the PPC Hall, Longleng. The meeting was attended by all the VCCs & head GBs under Longleng district, members from the Phom People’s Council, Phomla Hoichem, Phom Students’ Conference and advisory members of Longleng Town Council.
A press note informed that the meeting was addressed by the Deputy Commissioner Longleng, wherein he called on the village authorities and other NGOs and leaders of the district to extend full cooperation and help the visiting Census functionaries in their respective villages/wards in collecting accurate information. The meeting was also addressed by the two community monitors for Longleng district namely, Chingan Phom and Likhase Sangtam. Both the members and community Monitor shared on the necessity and advantages of giving the right and accurate Census data on the village leaders and the other NGOs present, to extend fullest cooperation and give the correct data.
