Census meet held at Chiephobozou, Phek

Dimapur, February 20 (DIPR): A meeting relating to census was held at Chiephobozou on February 18, 2011. ADC Chiephobozou, Martha R. Ritse who chaired the meeting gave an introduction about the census operation. She appealed to all the members to bring out with an accurate and genuine census report and requested all the Chairman of Village Council, GBs, and NGOs to cooperate with the enumerators and supervisors without missing a single household. She also asked them to enroll all the handicap persons. Executive Secretary and Community Monitor Vivi Nyuthe exhorted the area leaders’ on the need for correct census, pointing out that 2001 census was not fair enough. Member NGPS and Community Monitor Zeneivi Chasie also spoke regarding the census and reiterated the need for honest and accurate census.
Nodal Officer Census Department led by Assistant Director Kewachu Semy participated in the interaction and clarified various issues and queries relating to the ongoing census operation. He also appealed to the people not to pressurise the enumerators and supervisors for manipulating the census. Later, the team of officials visited the old and new Tsemekhuma Bawe village.
Meanwhile, Central census observer from government of Nagaland, incharge of Phek district, Norman Putsure, IAS, visited and interacted with the census charge officers, master trainers, supervisors and enumerators of Phek Sadar, Khuza circle and Phek town on February18,  2011. Later, on the same day he also visited Chizami and Pfutsero and had a meeting with charge officers and other census functionaries. As part of his inspection tour he had also visited Meluri on February 17, 2011.
During his visit, he called on the census functionaries to be sincere and diligent while carrying out the mammoth census operations and appealed to them to bring out correct census report. He crosschecked on the works of the enumerators and hinted that he would be visiting the places where census figures were inflated, stating that census enumeration should be differentiated from that of electoral enumeration. Deputy Commissioner Phek, Mikha Lomi and charge officer of Khuza circle SDO(c), Razhouvolie Dozo also met census enumerators and other village functionaries of Chepoketa, Khuza and Mutsale and had interaction with them regarding census works.
