Central Library & Institutional Repository inaugurated at KSCJ

Kohima, December 13 (MExN): Minister for Higher & Technical Education Temjen Imna Along inaugurated the Central Library & Institutional Repository of Kohima Science College, Jotsoma, on December 10. The new building was constructed under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA).

“The Institutional Repository (IR) has been created to collect, preserve and disseminate the research output of the college to facilitate scholarly communication of the institution knowledge. IR provides preservation and open access of the institutional output and also creates global visibility of the institution’s scholarly research in the electronic format,” stated a press release from KSCJ Media & Publicity Committee.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Temjen Imna Along expressed his joy on being part of the occasion describing the college as a “gem that brightly shines”. He acknowledged the presence of the Jotsoma Village Council members and elders, thanking the village for the benefit that the people of the State reap from the college. He exhorted the villagers, the college faculty and the students to give him their zealousness, promising that he in turn will work tenaciously for the people. Lamenting that many students get distracted with unwanted deviations, he urged the students to stay focused on their goals.
