Central PDNA assesses Mon monsoon damage

Mon, October 6 (MExN): A Central Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) team from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) visited Mon district on October 6 to assist in assessing damages caused by the 2026 monsoon.

During a meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Deputy Commissioner Wennyei Konyak highlighted the damage caused by the monsoon. Representatives of various line departments briefed the Central team on the damages in their respective sectors and submitted reports for assessment.

The team comprised Mickey Mecon Dalbehera, Scientist E, CBRI Roorkee; Rohit Kumar, Assistant Professor, NIDM; Indranil Bose, Senior Consultant, Infrastructure Sector; Shashank Mishra, Lead Consultant, NDMA; Dr Gagandeep Singh, Assistant Professor, NIDM; C.P. Mohan, Senior Consultant, Productive Sector; Chandani P C Senan, Senior Consultant, NDMA; and L. Jonhibemo Odyuo, Assistant Manager (Relief, Recovery and Mitigation), NSDMA.

The team encouraged the concerned departments to ensure that "all the actual damage" is properly recorded for the PDNA.
