Centre Chakhesang sports meet underway

The 54th general session of the Centre Chakhesang Sports Association (CCSA) started today at Pholami village under Phek district.

The four-day long meet will be marked by field and track events, football, volleyball, basketball and Naga wrestling.
The meet will continue till February 27.

MLA Kezhienyi Khalo graced the inaugural function and formally declared the tournament open.

In his address, Khalo urged upon the players to exercise discipline, reminding them that no one will attain success without discipline.

He also called upon the people to respect and follow the principle and ideology of the apex organizations like Centre Chakhesang Public Organization, Chakhesang Public Organization.

Shepo Dziido, Ist class contractor also spoke on the occasion and urged upon CCSA to stick to its motto “Unity is strength” and continue to spread the message of unity and oneness.

Phek District Sports Association (PDSA) president Nezosa Tetseo also addressed the gathering while Phola village council chairman Vesopa Nakro shared greetings.

Veduvo Medeo chaired the inaugural function while CSSA president Hiivesii Puro delivered presidential address.

CSSA Sports Secretary Küku-o Getsa administered oath to seven participating villages under CSSA - Porba, Sakraba, Phola, Middle Kho, Upper Kho, Gidemi and Lower Kho.
