DIMAPUR, JUNE 1 (MExN): The CEO designate of Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) Orenthung Lotha has written to the Principal Secretary Personnel & Administrative Reforms Department, Government of Nagaland on his taking over charge of the office of CEO DMC with effect from May 30, 2012. The letter was written on May 31, 2012. The letter brought to the notice of the government on the transfer order dated May 25, 2012 wherein Orenthung was posted as CEO DMC. Accordingly he explained that he had handed over charge of the office of ADC Bhandari on May 29 and proceeded to Dimapur to take over his new assignment. According to his letter, Orenthung went to the DMC office and met the incumbent CEO on May 30, 2012 in her office chamber.

“However even after waiting till 31st May 2012, I regret to inform that the present incumbent CEO DMC is reluctant to hand over charge on the ground that she is presently on leave. Whereas in reality, she is attending office and performing her official duties as CEO till 31st May 2012, which is contravention to government direction”, stated the letter from Orenthung to the Principal Secretary.

The letter has therefore requested that necessary direction be issued to enable the office of the CEO DMC to function smoothly. Orenthung also informed that as per the directions of the government, he was completed to take over charge as CEO DMC with effect from 31st May 2012. The letter from Orenthung was also reportedly counter signed by the Chief Secretary himself on June 1, 2012.
