Niuland, October 9 (MExN): The Niuland Area Citizen’s Forum (NACF) has vehemently condemned the alleged “unethical practices” of a government office under Niuland District Headquarter by “harassing its employees for some monetary favour.”
The matter is being deliberated and brewing on social media, stated a press release from the NACF President, Kakishe Shikhu and Press Secretary Saul Sema on October 9.
The forum in no way supports such “maladministration by any government servant whatsoever and vehemently condemn such illegal and unethical practices,” it asserted
Accordingly, the NACF stated that government servants and officials are expected to maintain and strengthen the public's trust and confidence in government, by demonstrating the highest standards of professional competence, efficiency and effectiveness, upholding the Constitution and the laws, and seeking to advance the public good at all times.
Such unethical practices only denigrate the good governance and stump the government policy of “zero tolerance for corruption” and further introduce trust deficit to the political and democratic process, it maintained.
The NACF further stated that it would not “shy away but will voice out for such issues in public interest and urged the concern department to apologise “unconditionally to the aggrieved employees and take counter measures to eradicate such misdemeanour.”
