Certificates awarded to jewellery, beauty course trainees in DGC

Dimapur, April 19 (MExN): Dimapur Government College (DGC) organised a joint certificate distribution programme for the Jewellery Designer Course and Beauty and Wellness Course (Batch 2) on April 18.

The programme was conducted by the PM-USHA Monitoring Cell in collaboration with the Skill Development Committee under the Vocationalisation of Higher Education initiative. While the jewellery course was funded by the Ministry of Education under PM-USHA, the beauty and wellness course was supported by the Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Nagaland.

The event was attended by the vice principal, mentor-trainers, faculty members and students. Chairing the programme, Dr Temjennaro Jamir, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, highlighted the importance of skill-based education in enhancing employability and promoting entrepreneurship.

Speaking on behalf of the trainees, Ngungying M, a BA eighth semester student of the Economics department, expressed gratitude to mentor-trainer Zabenthung Murry and the organisers, noting that the course fostered entrepreneurial skills, brand development and confidence among participants.

Imsujungla Jamir, a BA fourth semester student of the English department, also thanked trainer Hukali Avito Swu and acknowledged the support of faculty and fellow trainees.

Vice Principal Dr Meripeni Ngully felicitated the mentor-trainers for their guidance and later distributed certificates to the successful trainees. She congratulated the students and encouraged them to strive for excellence in their future endeavours.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Nungsangtola Walling, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology.
