Kohima, January 29 (MExN): The Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) has reiterated the standing resolutions of the Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) to reaffirm and uphold the standing Resolutions of the Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) to ban the following activities in the Chakhesang inhabited areas of Phek District.
Burning of Jungle: Reaffirming its earlier stand to strictly restrict the indiscriminate burning of jungle in the Chakhesang inhabited areas of Phek district, the CFY added that “Defaulters shall be penalized with a fine of Rs. 20000,” informed a press release issued by CYF President, Lhuvesayi Lohe and General Secretary, Medovelo Sono.
Medicinal plants: Collection/extraction of medicinal plants is banned and a fine of Rs. 5000 shall be penalized from the defaulters and goods shall be confiscated by the concerned authority, it stated. Hunting: The Youth Front has imposed restriction of hunting throughout the year. Capturing, Coursing, Snaring, Trapping or Baiting of any Birds or wild animals shall be restricted. Any person found carrying weapons, explosives, firearms, poison, snares and traps or apparatus capable of anaesthetizing, decoying, destroying, injuring or killing of Birds and wild animals shall be penalized with a fine of Rs. 5000 and such equipments/apparatus shall be seized.
Fishing: The CYF has also prohibited use of equipments/apparatus such as battery, generator, chemicals, etc for fishing. A fine of Rs. 5000 will be penalized from the defaulters which can be enhanced depending on the extent of devastation caused. Such equipments/apparatus will be seized, it added.
Import of piglets/pigs: It added that the import of piglets/pigs weighting below 30kgs, for rearing only, shall be allowed to interested persons or party. Health certificate from the concerned Veterinary department must be produced to the authority. Import of Piglets/Pigs above the prescribed weight is strictly restricted. Defaulters will be penalized with a fine of Rs. 20000irrespective of quantity.
Meanwhile, public are earnestly requested to abide by the resolutions passed by the CPO and implemented by the CYF for the welfare of the community. The concerned subordinate Area Youth Presidents, Town Youth Presidents and respective Village Youth Presidents are requested to implement the mentioned resolutions in their respective areas.
