Chedema Village Council constituted, CVYO urges villagers to maintain peace

Kohima, May 12 (MExN): President of Chedema Village Youth Organization (CVYO) has appealed to all the villagers of Chedema to forgive and forget everything that had happened in the past. CVYO president Razouvilie Zhale and his colleagues on behalf of the villagers today expressed relief that the government authorities and the district administration (Kohima) have finally solved the serious crisis with regard to the matter of Chedema village council formation with positive democratic principles.

The villagers had differences of ideology in governance of the village which needed to have an acceptable reconciliation, stated CVYO president in a press statement. However, he added, due to pressures of some certain issues, the villagers could not solve their problems for about eight years.

On May 2, with the intervention of the district administration, the Chedema Village Council was finally constituted by electing Sabeituo Mechiilho as the chairman of Chedema Village Council as he had secured absolute majority votes. “The positive progress of restructuring the village council would be cherished and acceptable to the community of the village,” stated CVYO president. “The dawn of modernity and true developmental attitude towards the village community has compelled us to positively accept the outcome though we have differences in ideologies and principles. As we are living in democratic country every controversial issue is to be solved through the democratic principles.”

The president further called upon all the villagers to work together to “achieve our common goal of solidarity so that transparency, equality and justice could be prevailed among the villagers.” He appealed to all the individuals of the village to open a new chapter of peace, togetherness, mutual understanding among “ourselves” for attaining “our” aspirations and endeavour to strengthen the positive forces of reforms, changes, peace and brotherhood which will enable “us” to achieve “our” common desire.
