Mon, January 6 (MExN): The Chenloisho Village Council (CVC) and the Chenloisho Students’ Union (CSU) have filed a complaint against the 35 Assam Rifles stationed at Chenmoho under Mon district for physically assaulting three of its members on December 31 and wrongfully accusing them as bike thieves and NSCN (K) members. In this connection, the two organisations shot off a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, Mon detailing that the three persons – two of whom were students – were travelling on a motorcycle to check on an accident of a vehicle belonging to Ex-MLA W. Shaboh. The two organizations also took exception to the accusations that a meeting of the NSCN (K) was held at Chenwetnyu village and that the two vehicles were used to carry NSCN (K) members. Condemning the assault, the CVC and CSU maintained that the accusations were false and questioned if the AR had any proof or record. It further requested the authority to take “necessary and timely action to maintain peace and harmony.”
