MOKOKCHUNG, SEPTEMBER 6 (MExN): The first ever free coaching camp cum 1st Mokokchung district chess championship 2022 was organized by the Department Youth Resources and Sports, Nagaland Chess Association in collaboration with DEF Mokokchng at DEF School.
Around 50 students participated on day 1 and 2. Meanwhile, the coaching camp is going to be held till September 8, and a 1 day tournament to be held on September 9.
Aotula T Imchen IPS SP Mokokchng declared the first ever chess coaching camp cum 1st Mokokuchng district chess championship 2022. She said India as a nation is also coming up with a lot of initiatives when it comes in the game of chess. In the recent times also India for the first time in the history of the country hosted 44th Olympiad of chess in Chennai Mahabalipuram last month.
Welcome address was given by Mughaho Awomi, Chess Instructor, Youth Resources and Sports; Secretary, Nagaland Chess Association; and Joint Secretary, All India Chess Federation.
He said that a healthy mind and a fit body contribute greatly in shaping the golden future of a child. Playing the game of chess on a regular basis right from the childhood improves the learning, thinking, analytical power and decision- making ability of the child, he added.
