Tohanba at the Chessore Area Football Tournament on September 20
Kohima, September 22 (MExN): The Chessore Area Sports Association (CASA) kicked start its 33rd Grand Opening of Chessore Area Football Tournament on September 20 at Chessore with R. Tohanba, State Executive Member BJP, Nagaland & Ex. MLA as the chief guest.
Ten teams representing ten villages under Chessore areas joined the meet.
In his speech, Tohanba stated that Sports are very essential for every youngster which keeps them fit, and physical strength.
He said that there are many talented sportsperson in our community but due to lack of sports infrastructure youngsters are facing difficulties to choose sports as their career.
He also highlighted Khelo India Scheme under the initiative of Govt of India which focuses mainly on Games & Sports development.
He urged the youngsters to chase their talent no matter what hardship they face “because the Govt. of India are giving much importance in the field of Games and Sports and those sportsperson who never give up their dreams will get benefited.”
Earlier, the opening ceremony started with an invocation prayer by Rev. Father David K Tithong while welcome address was delivered by H. Mukam, Vice president CASA.
The tournament will continue till September 24.
