Dimapur, December 20 (MExN): The chief minister of Nagaland is asked by a students’ organization to clarify on the “status” of the Department of Underdeveloped Areas (DUDA) “particularly for Tuensang and Mon”. A letter addressed to the chief minister by the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) today highlighted stipulated functions of the DUDA as stated in government notifications. The CM is asked to “justify” the queries: “how DUDA has been established fro whom and for what purpose? Who has initiated in its inception? Clarify the present status and functioning?”
The ENSF queried further: “How, why and for what reason” were the terms “exclusively” or “particularly” mentioned in the notifications and order of the state government “ignored and interpreted.” “Why chief secretary, Nagaland has replied incorrectly to the Ministry of Home Affairs (NE division), GoI after knowing the present status of DUDA?” the ENSF added. The organization demanded that the state government “justify” the queries at the earliest.
