Chiephobozou, December 4 (MExN): The newly constructed Chiephobozou Town Council (CTC) Office was inaugurated by Zhaleo Rio, Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, at the CTC Hall on December 3.
Speaking at the programme, Rio congratulated the Town Council for completing a “beautiful and adequately planned” office building within a limited budget.
He urged the elected councillors, ADC, and Executive Officer to ensure that all revenue generated and funds received from Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) are openly discussed and deliberated during house meetings for transparency and accountability.
Calling for collective leadership, the Advisor also encouraged the councillors to work as a team under “one umbrella” for the development of the sub-division. Rio further appealed to them to exercise their powers and responsibilities under the Municipal Act judiciously.
Highlighting gaps in past population census and electoral roll enumeration, he urged the ADC, EO, and councillors to take proactive steps to ensure accurate and genuine enumeration in the next census.
Earlier, Rio unveiled the monolith. He was accompanied by MLA YM Humtsoe and officials from the Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Department.
As per the State DIPR, during the inaugural programme, the building construction report was presented by CTC Chairperson Khrielelie Kerhuo, while short speeches were delivered by OSD to the Chief Minister Neibalie Rio, NAPO President Keduo-O Zumu, and Commissioner & Secretary, Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Kekhrievor Kevichusa.
Earlier, ADC Chiephobozou Alemyapang Longchar delivered the welcome address in a programme chaired by CTC Deputy Chairperson Kekhrieneinuo Zumvü, while Pastor Pavi Pao of CRC Chiephobozou invoked God’s blessing.
A special number was presented by Viketounuo Kerhuo and a group song by the Chiephobozou Town Women Organisation. The vote of thanks was delivered by CTC Councillor Ruvuotuonuo Ruth.
