Children Music Fest concludes

DIMAPUR, JULY 7 (MExN): ‘Children Music Festival’ organised by the education & communication department of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council along with Kids Worship Centre concluded on Thursday, July 7.  It had begun on July 5 and was hosted at the Sumi Baptist Church, Dimapur. Around 400 children from eleven constituent Baptist associations under the NBCC participated.
The three-day long event consisted of not only the regular praise and worship but also seminars led by established Naga artistes – Alo Wanth, Jungtina and Tali Angh - as the resource persons. Talent competition was also held where the children displayed their musical skills. The competitive categories included indigenous instruments, drums, classical guitar, violin, keyboards, choir, and solo.  
WSBAK (Western Sumi Baptist Churches Association) and SBAK (Sumi Baptist Churches Association) took the honours in the indigenous instruments category coming first and second respectively. Zeme Baptist Church Council (ZBCC) and Sangtam Town Baptist Church, Tuengsang came first and second respectively in the choir category. The judges were Tulu, Jungtina, Loye, Dr. Lima, Michael, Akok, Jeevan Ingti and Alobo.
Result of the various competitions conducted as follows: Solo: 1st - Cateü Chiero, 2nd - Pelelhonuo, 3rd – Kalino; Classical Guitar: 1st - Vikhehelie Nakhro, 2nd – Bokivi, 3rd – Okuliba; Drums: 1st - Nikito A Swu, 2nd - Peletso Khale, 3rd - Ashwin Abraham; Keyboard: 1st - Ruguoser Liegise, 2nd - Doreen Aier and Lihzu Shiney, 3rd - Damchuilung Komei; Violin: 1st - Bagmei Clasisa, 2nd - Ketiyala Imchen, 3rd - Therhuseto Nakhro and Shouthungo Ovung.
