Chomi village hopes relief from water woes

A total of 484 households of Chomi village today expressed with great delight that water woes of the village has been solved with the inauguration of the water reservoir constructed under MNERGA.
 DRDA Kiphire, Project Director, Thungjamo Khuvung today inaugurated the water reservoir which has the capacity of about 10000 litres. Khuvung in his speech expressed hope that with the reservoir in the villagers, the living standard will improve in Chomi village
Khuvung also stated that though it is his maiden visit to the village in the capacity of the Project Director he sees many developmental works going on smoothly and this in itself shows the closeness and unity of the village.
The Project Director also said that the department is undertaking many developmental works in the district and villages and “not much is seen in the media, because of which people think money is being misused. Therefore, we should give enough publication of the developmental activities we take up.” Advising the villagers the Project Director said, ‘every organisation should extend help to one another in the village and sometimes act as a watchdog so that developmental activities become better’.
BDO Pungro Phoishe Zhimo while addressing the villager said, “Of all the VBDs Chomi VDB is doing better” as he has not heard any complaint from Chomi VDB which shows the unity of the village in every activity. He also encouraged the villager to carry on with the same spirit so that Chomi VDB becomes the role model for the other VDBs as well.
Chomi Village Council, Chairman welcomed the visiting officers and expressed hope that the officers will address the need of the village in any given opportunity.
