At this occassion of joyous and festive Christmas I bring Greetings to you all on behalf of the Naga National Council and on my own behalf.
I further wish to stress on the boundless love and the designs of the Almighty God for sustaining and enabling to be a people and a nation to this day despite the innovative and articulate machinations of the oppressors to contain our people and wipe off our unique identity. Today human kind is able to live with hope and reverence for the coming of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ to this world to redeem us and paved our way to eternal glory. Amidst this joy and merriment of Christmas, it is necessary for us to think and work determinedly holding unto the historical and political rights of our nat-ion as manifested in the 14th Aug 1947 declaration of our Independence to the outside world which was followed by the historic Plebiscite of the 16th May 1951 to be ourselves as a sovereign people and a nation and not otherwise under any circumstance whatsoever.
However, it is very unfortunate that some of our people who never enjoy the mandate of our people are today attempting to accept the constitution of India for a lopsided solution and nullify the Naga cause wherein the sufferings and the sacrifices of our people will be meaningless. Are we Nagas ready to accept this status or will be determined to up-hold our right of freedom. The decision in that effect lies with each and every Naga as things stand today.
It is encouraging that we have humanity support from like minded people and nations in and abroad who share with our cause and with and uprightness we shall succeed sooner or later. May this joyous Christmas bring forth abundant blessings throughout the New Year to come so that we shall be a free and sovereign people and a nation in entity to live in peace.
