Chubatsur Jamir’s new album titled ‘Ainaro’ was launched this evening by Nungdokyanger Ao, President, Ao Kaketshir Mundang (AKM) here at EDABA.
This will be Jamir’s third album, which has nine songs with eight in Ao language and one in English. Jamir is popular for promoting songs in Ao and is a folk fusion and gospel artiste.
Speaking at the launch, Jamir said that the album is dedicated to her beloved father who passed away in May this year. The songs are all composed by the singer.
She is presently a member of the Cantamus Choir Nagaland.
Jamir has also collaborated with Ao Musical Revival in one of her albums, while the other album is based on ‘praise and worship’ songs. Jamir also won the Mokokchung hero title during the Naga Idol 5.10.
Earlier during the event, Nungdokyanger Ao, President, AKM expressed his delight to launch the album. He encouraged all to share and promote Jamir’s new album and also to continue supporting local talents, and songs such as Jamir’s who creates beautiful songs in Ao.
Rev Jongpong, Pastor EDABA said the thanksgiving and dedicatory prayer. I Panger Jamir, deacon EDABA pronounced the invocation prayer, while the programme was chaired by Moatila, CED EDABA.
Mention may be made that Jamir’s first album was launched when she was just eight years old. For her first album, her mother composed all the songs and to this day, her mother continues to be her partner in creating and making music.
