Church leaders urged to inculcate spirit of fellowship
Rev Dr C Cho-o, Professor of Applied Theology, OTS speaking during the workshop held on March 5.
Dimapur, March 5 (MExN): Miqlat Ministry with Seluophe, Singrijan and Khopanala village on its day four of weeklong celebration of women conducted workshop for church leaders on the topic ‘Stronger Together’.
Speaking on the occasion, Rev Dr C Cho-o, Professor of Applied Theology, OTS encouraged the delegates to inculcate the spirit of ‘Koinonia’ (Christian fellowship/communion), stating that one cannot do things alone and one cannot be a Christian alone and that there is no solitary mission. He expressed joy for such interdenominational joining hands to come together for such a program and said “It is not denomination that is going to take us to heaven but only through Christ.”
Dr Cho-o stressed on teamwork stating that Bible advocates team work because Christian faith is based on both vertical and horizontal relationship, and that one without the other is incomplete. The word “one another” is the primary teaching in the New Testament. Christians are to encourage, exhort, pray, admonish, uplift and also bear one another’s burden. He stated that the obstacle to teamwork arises when “if my vision is not “our vision”, if my interest is greater than the interest of others, if ministry is reduced to human endeavour and if God is not in the team.
He dealt on the basis of our oneness and concluded that “it really doesn’t matter who gets the credit as long as the kingdom of God is extended”.
Khrieketuolie Thepa, Pastor United Christian Church, Seluophe moderated the workshop and participants were church leaders from Selouphe, Singrijan, Diezephe and Tsithrongse Village. T
