Dimapur,December 6(MExN): Nagaland Civil Defence & Home Guards organization celebrated its Raising Day with the rest of the country on December 6,. 2011 at Central Training Institute (CTI), Toluvi, Dimapur. The function was graced by Er. W.Kithan, Parliamentary Secy. Prison, Home Guards, Fire & Emergency Services, Nagaland as chief guest. All officers from district units, all ranks and staff of CTI and along with the 14th IR(B) ‘A” Coy who are undergoing SDRF Training attended the function.
Dally Jamir, PRO. CD& HG Nagaland in a press statement stated that the programme was chaired by Akhu Kath, Junior Staff Officer (HQ), Kohima. The function began with the invocation prayer by Shri. Tesemo Apon, Pastor CTI Church. A welcome speech was delivered by Michael Yaden, Commandant General. Avinuo, Dist. Commandant (HGs), Wokha read out the message received from His Excellency the Governor of Nagaland, NIkhil Kumar and Chief Minister of Nagaland, Nephiu Rio. A short speech was delivered by O. Alem, Director General of Prison and Home Guards.
This was followed by the address of the chief guest W.Kithan, Hon’ble Parliamentary Secy. Prison, Home Guards, Fire & Emergency Services, Nagaland. The chief guest also gave away the DG, Civil Defence (MHA) Awards & Commendation certificate of DG (Prisons & Home Guards) to the departmental officers and staff. A demonstration on knottings, lashing and a mock drill on Medical First Responder were displayed by the CTI Instructors and SDRF trainees’ respectively.Lastly the vote of thanks was given by Shri. Itoshe Kibami, Commandant, CTI. In the afternoon football exhibition match was played between SDRF Trainees and SDRF Trainers.
