‘Clan problem should be resolved through customary practices’

DIMAPUR, APRIL 2 (MExN): The Changki Ayim Asem Senso Mongdang (CAASM) while appreciating the visit of the Chairman, Ceasefire Monitoring Group, to the village on 29.03.2012 informed that his intention was warmly reciprocated by the village. A press note from the CAASM informed that during his stoppage at Changki, he met the village elders/clan leaders and enquired about various matters regarding the Changki situation.

The CAASM in a press note issued by its President Imlimeren and Secretary Imtinochet has requested everyone to understand that the present clan problem in Changki is something to be resolved through Changki customary practices. “Any outside interference will only complicate the matter more. We therefore appeal to each and everyone to respect the traditional rights of Changki village and refrain from forming opinion based on rumors and propaganda”, stated the CAASM while adding that the actual ground reality is altogether different from what many think.
