Classical Gala 2022: Meet the Soloists and Accompanists

A ‘Classical Gala 2022’ presenting Franz Schubert’s ‘MASS in G’, works by Gustav Holst, Elaine Hagenberg, Jake Runestad, Karl Jenkins, Astor Piazzolla and more by the Nagaland String Orchestra (NSO), Margaret Shishak School of Music (MSSM) Singers and The Nagaland Chamber Choir (TNCC) is all set to take stages in Dimapur and Kohima. 

The first show will be held at Holy Cross Auditorium, Dimapur on October 14 (Friday) and the next stop will be at Capital Cultural Hall, Kohima on October 16 (Sunday). Both the show starts at 6:00 pm.

Meet the soloists and Accompanists of the Classical Gala 2022’: 

SOLOISTS


Kevisekuo Sechu: Studied music from the Philippines and currently working as Assistant Professor in voice at Margaret Shishak School of Music, Patkai Christian College (Autonomous).


Longshithung Ovung: Bachelor of Music (Hons) from Margaret Shishak School of Music, Patkai Christian College (Autonomous), member of The Nagaland Chamber Choir (TNCC) and currently vocal instructor at Music Academy Kohima (MAK) and serving part time at Kohima Lotha Baptist Church Music Department.


Tesinle Lorin: Classical singer (Soprano). Bachelor of Music (Honors) from Margaret Shishak School of Music, former Vocal instructor at MSSM, private vocal instructor and currently working as Music Director at Dimapur Rengma Baptist Church. 


Visenuo Rio: A Soprano. Completed her Bachelor’s of Music with applied voice from MSSM, Patkai and Master in Music Performance (voice) from Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff, Wales, UK. She is now currently serving as an assistant professor at Margaret Shishak School of Music, Patkai. 

ACCOMPANISTS


Ashuni Chakre: Assistant Professor at Margaret Shishak School of Music. Bachelor of Arts with Music Honors from Patkai Christian College (Autonomous), and Masters in Music Honors in Piano Pedagogy from Myongji University Graduate School of Culture and Arts, Seoul, South Korea.


Hotolu Yepthomi: Pursuing Bachelor of Music in piano major from Patkai Christian College (Autonomous), Margaret Shishak School of Music, completed grade 8 from Trinity College London, official pianist of Dimapur Sumi Baptist Church and currently working as a piano teacher in Music House, Thilixu and Golden Crown Theological College.


Zingrin Shishak: Dean of Music at Margaret Shishak School of Music, Patkai Christian College (Autonomous), accomplished and widely experienced teacher, pianist and accompanist.


Mhathung Odyuo: Mhathung graduated with Masters of Church Music (specializing in voice) from Singapore Bible College in May 2021. Apart from his voice major, he loves to play wind and string instruments and is the Cellist for this concert. Presently, he is teaching at MSSM as an Adjunct Assistant Professor (Voice) and at Golden Crown Theological College as the HOD of voice (Church Music Dept).


Khrowolo U Koza: Completed her Diploma in Music from Margaret Shishak School of Music and is pursuing her 3rd year in Bachelor of Music with piano emphasis in MSSM under the tutelage of Zingrin Shishak. She started learning the piano when she was 13 years of age, and has completed Trinity Grade 8 in piano performance. She enjoys teaching piano, performing and accompanying.
