Indeed living up to the state’s now-famous slogan: “Nagaland For Christ’, the apex Church of the state has yet again taken the lead by launching a ‘Clean Election’ movement aimed at ensuring clean, corruption-free elections in the state even as skeptics have voiced disapproval at the NBCC’s involvement in similar matters.

A NBCC seminar on ‘Clean Election and Environment’ held at Hotel Japfu here today resolved to carry out political educational programmes through various means taking into consideration both long and short-term goals based on biblical principles.

The participants of the seminar, which included representatives of various denominations and public organisations, also resolved to carry forward the ‘Clean Election” movement to all the districts of the state.

Besides, the participants of the seminar also resolved to adopt the approved guidelines for church workers and Christian ministers, guidelines for the general public and guidelines for political parties and political candidates while also appealing to the national workers and security forces to exercise restraint. At today’s seminar on ‘Clean Election and Environment’, organised by the NBCC and sponsored by the COTPID, several top government officials acted as moderators wherein several matters of public interest were also discussed at length.
