DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 17 (MExN): The Railway Contractor’s Union Nagaland (RCUN) has written to the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) in Lumding, Assam alleging that the ongoing cleanliness work carried out at Dimapur Railway Station is not as per the required norms and procedure.

In a representation addressed to the DRM, Lumdin, RCUN president Niuto Awomi said the work undergoing at Dimapur Railway Station on comprehensive cleaning of platform, waiting hall, FOB, track & drains etc with semi-mechanized cleaning for three years from the date of awarding the contract was not as per the required norms and procedure specified in the tender paper.

It alleged that the concerned contractor executing the work at present has not deployed the required machineries and equipments at the work site while citing instance that the Auto Scrubber Drier Machine Battery Operated requirement is five in the tender paper whereas the contractor was using only two at present.

Further, there is shortage of other machineries and equipments and manpower, the RCUN alleged. It also observed that there are many areas in and outside the station which are not adequately maintained as required.
