CM Rio condoles demise of former Health Director Dr Visasieti Yiese

Kohima, January 7, (MExN): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Dr Visasieü Yiese, née Kire (Kobunuo), former Director of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland, who passed away on January 7, at Eden Medical Centre, Dimapur.

In his condolence message, the Chief Minister said Dr Kobunuo was one of the seniormost Naga paediatricians and served the State Government in various capacities with passion, dedication, and strong work ethics. He described her as a competent officer who diligently discharged her duties and left an indelible mark on the healthcare sector of the State.

The Chief Minister noted that Dr Kobunuo was also known as a resilient and courageous woman who stood firm in her beliefs and was always kind and helpful to those in need. Her compassion and empathy towards her patients, particularly children, earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and the community, he said.

Stating that her passing is a great loss to Naga society, the medical fraternity, and the Angami community, Rio said the void left by her demise would be difficult to fill and that she would be deeply missed. He, however, urged people to cherish the memories she left behind and to thank God for her life, adding that it was his humble prayer that her legacy would continue to inspire future generations of healthcare professionals.

The Chief Minister, along with his family, conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed that Almighty God would grant them courage and comfort to bear the irreparable loss.
