DIMAPUR, MAY 23 (MExN): The various colony chairmen within urban Dimapur today held a special meeting in coordination with Naga Council Dimapur to discuss prevailing social issues in Dimapur and also formed “Colony Chairmen Forum” under Dimapur urban. This was stated in a press note issued by Ntsemo Ngullie (Gen Secretary, Naga Council) and Sessional Secretary at today’s meeting.
According to the press note, it was further decided that the Forum shall function in tandem with Naga Council to render full support and cooperation in all issues of public concern including detection of illegal immigrants, antisocial activities and to collectively take up pocket colony development aspects and to fight for legitimate Government funds allocated under urban development from time to time.
“This is pertinent because till date, as many as 70 odd colonies under Dimapur urban have never seen any tangible progress within the municipality of Dimapur or under urban development schemes”, the press note stated while adding that the Forum shall initially comprise of the following members which shall function in its present form in tandem with Naga Council until December 2012, thereafter to restructure in a full-fledged body.
The Colony Chairmen Forum will be headed by Chubanukshi Aier, Convenor and T. Mirhu, Secretary. The executive members are T. Vero, LN Ngullie, Khuwoto Chishi, Z. Kapfo, Aosanen, Simon Angami, Akito Zhimomi, Hokiye Yeptho, Kezhaletuo Metha, Hikadaung Zeliang, Hetoi Chophi, Tsatheo Ezung, Nthavu Magh, S. Bendang, Angapou Kamei, Tokiye Kibami, Ozamo Odyuo, L. Subong Ao, Toshi Imsong, Dziese Angami, Athrong Sangtam, Dennis Zeliang, Hekto and Taku Pongen.
