Communitisation programmes ineffective in Phomching area

Dimapur, July 3 (MExN): The Phomching Area Students’ Union (PASU) under Mon district has raised concerns about poor healthcare facility, power supply, road connectivity, and problems of schools run by a single teacher in the area. Taking serious note of the problems, PASU general secretary, Khatwang Wangsa in a press note stated that during the Sanitation Week observed from June 25 to June 30, the union visited the entire jurisdiction covering 12 federating units. The union stated that while interacting with the chairmen of various communitisation programmes in the area, it was found that some programmes were not being properly implemented.
The union stated that due to negligence of the concerned departments, inappropriate allocation of funds, communication gap, irregular attendance of staff and corrupt committee members, the programmes were not being running well. While, it urged the communitisation committee members to carry on the good works, also warned that appropriate action would be taken against defaulters. The union would continue to check such irregularities within its jurisdiction, the note added.
