
MOKOKCHUNG, AUGUST 10 (MExN): A one-day Community Extension Service on the theme “Constitutional Rights and Civic Duties: Awareness for an Inclusive Society” was held on Friday at Tzüsapang Baptist Church here.
The programme was organised by the Department of Political Science, Fazl Ali College, in collaboration with the church, with the objective of creating awareness on citizens’ rights and duties while connecting them with Christian values.
Putusosang, a fifth-semester student, chaired the programme, which began with an invocation by church deacon Senti Jamir. Pastor Rev W Supong delivered the welcome address, while Dr E Benrithung Patton gave the introductory remarks.
Sentinaro, a fifth-semester student, presented a poem titled I for an Impassioned Indian. Paper presentations followed, with Sangpangmeren speaking on “Inclusive Citizenship: Building a Just and Participatory Society” and Temsuienla on “Fundamental Rights: Empowering Every Citizen.”
An interactive session, “Civic Values Circle,” was conducted by students, where participants discussed rights and duties, sharing personal reflections and Bible verses. Feedback was given by Helen Jamir, while Dr Imnazenla Longkumer delivered a wrap-up reflection.
Temjeneremang proposed the vote of thanks, and the closing prayer was led by Sunep Jamir. The programme concluded with light refreshments.
