
Through this esteem column, I would like to raise a complaint against the bank manager Kiphire branch, which lacks the introduction of modern facilities for the rural people like Kiphire district and his irresponsible performance in functioning the bank in the district.
That the grievances faced by the general public especially in the transaction for the Instant Banking and Demand Draft could not be possible due to the non introduction of the modern facilities in the district by the Bank manager SBI Kiphire, like the available facilities for all the districts in Nagaland for the instant drafting with the ‘steps’, ‘Telegraph Draft’ and the ‘Core Banking’ facilities in the district. The problem faced by the general public especially to the students who are studying out side the state need such above mentioned transactions facilities ,for instance ,the students’ parents are supposed to draft the amount of Rs.5000/- from the CORE Banking or through STEPS facilities which could be absolutely free without charging any cost for this transaction fee(CORE BANKING) especially to the students out side the state it is not be possible in the district and for this we have to go down to the state capital Kohima or to Dimapur by spending another 2000\- for the transportation .It is also shameful to the district for the shortage of Saving Bank Application Form which should be available in the bank for the customers to open their account which indirectly help the state bank to grow their profits .But there is no single application form and only by paying some amount through back door it is possible and the service loan application form too is facing the same problem and for which we have to pay 150 bucks to 200 bucks which is actually supposed to be absolutely free from the respective departments.
It has also been come to learn that the Bank Manager SBI Kiphire has taken leave for some days and all the major transactions could not be functioned for long time due to his absence which no in charge among the staff has been entrusted and the bank customers who have already applied for the service loan or the personal loan has been kept in abeyance for such a long time even after they have done all the departmental proceedings for the approval and now they have been waiting for the manager SBI to draw their cash. Every staff or individual has opted for the service loan to lighten their financial crisis which they have to pay back to the bank with the interest in monthly installment basis but instead they have taken loan from the local organization or from the individuals with the high rate of interest by 10% to 15% a month by depending on their long awaited service loan which has created double burden for the financial crisis…..Is it not torturing to the humble government servants ?Why the higher authorities in the district keep mum for the long absence of such a big and important Deppt.official? Even students got their summer holidays for maximum 15 to 20 days and now it is about to reach nearly 60 days (two months) .This is unbearable for the public and so I personally request the bank Manager SBI Kiphire to kindly come and resume your duty which will prevent you from the future course of action from all the NGOs, and the sub units organization like Unions and Associations for further agitation .And I would like to humbly request you to kindly introduce the cited above transaction facilities at the earliest so that it will solve the problems of the students in particular and the public in general which we have been facing for a long time. Lastly I would like to request all the NGOs, Unions and Associations to timely check such irregular and erring officials in the district to perform their duty honestly and to serve the public smoothly and to run a stable service to the general public.
