ENWO added that “this act is unforgivable and beyond human toleration” and “a person like him with ill moral towards humanity, especially to weaker section (minor girl child), should never (be) allowed to dwell with fellow citizens”.
Supporting the demands from Phom organizations to terminate the accused from service and deny bail “under any circumstance” till “justice is met”,
ENWO has also shared the “pains and sorrows of the victim and her family members”. Keeping with “Christian ethics”, the women’s organization has called for all “right thinking citizens” to condemn the crime.
Duncan Women Union condemns alleged rape of minor
The Duncan Women Union, having read the news of the “the rape of an innocent 11-year-old child” by a “65 year old man”, has expressed shame over “our society” that holds “old men who violate children young enough to be their grand-daughters.”
The Union has “taken note that under-aged children are being employed and question why the state Government is not taking strong action against such practices, which clearly violate the law against employing under-aged minors.”
Condemning the alleged rape of the minor, the Duncan Women Union has demanded a “befitting punishment under the law of the land and justice delivered to the victim”.
Moreever, “no amount of monetary compensation would make up for the physical, mental and psychological ordeal and trauma the victim has suffered hence it is imperative that through speedy justice both society and state offer succor to the victim.”
