Dimapur, July 23 (MExN): The former president of Naga Hoho and Ao Senden, Bendangmayang Jamir of Longkhum village passed way at his residence in Mokokchung town on July 23. He is survived by his wife and three children.
NSCN (IM), Ato Kilonser Th Muivah, expressing pain over the demise in a condolence note recollected, late Bendangmayang as “a staunch leader who stood firm for the right in trials and denouncing the wrong without any hesitation. He participated in various Naga Political historic events at home and abroad. In his leadership in Ao Senden and Naga Hoho, he exhibited tremendous excellence with a national spirit.”
“I hope and pray that his sacrifices and services rendered towards building the nation be a lesson and an inspiration to the generations to come. He was a leader with vision, God-fearing and a good friend of mine. In his death, Naga people bear a loss that can never be replaced,” the condolence note stated.
