Condolences for Deo Dukru

Kohima, May 6 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has mourned the demise of Deo Dukru, former social and cultural secretary of NSF during the tenure 1980-81. “His immense contribution towards the students community as a leader and also being served as DEO, Pfutsero and Headmaster, Nerhema has untold deeds to be remembered by the students community,” a condolence message received here said. NSF general secretary acknowledged and honoured his “selfless sacrifices” rendered towards the students’ community. All the good deeds that he has left behind to the younger generation will be followed with all good faith and confidence, it added.  The Federation also expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for his soul to rest in peace. 

Zhavame Students’ Union 
Zhavame Students’ Union has also deeply mourned the tragic death of Deo Dukru on May 2 while on his way to Guwahati. In a condolence message, Zhavame Students’ Union acknowledged that Deo Dukru dedicated his life to teaching and was the headmaster of Nerhema Village government school at the time of his demise. He served in different students’ organizations and Chakhesang frontal organizations and played a pivotal role throughout the time and was instrumental in many junctures in the course of the village history, the note stated. Adding that Zhavame village has lost a tall and upright leader who had additional attachment with the village youngsters, the union expressed deep pain at the loss of a “great leader who dedicated so much for the uplift of the village youngsters.” The students’ union further recognized that the contribution rendered by him was adorable and worth remembering. It prayed that the almighty God comfort the bereaved family members and give peace to the departed soul. 

Razeba Students' Union 
In a separate note, the Razeba Students' Union (RSU) also expressed shock and grief over the sudden and untimely demise of Deo Dukru, leaving his wife, three sons and three daughters. RSU president Dapulu Leah and Finance Secretary Vipanyi Krome called him one of the key pioneers and the guardian of RSU. He was the ex-president of Razeba Students’ Union and Zhavame Students’ Union, ex-general secretary of Chakhesang Students’ Union and continued to serve the students community in the field of education till his last breath, RSU stated. “We salute his wisdom, acknowledges his contributions, sacrifices and hard works for the welfare of the community.” It further conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and relatives.
