Kohima, June 23 (MExN): Former MLA of 32 A/C Atoizu Constituency, Yeshito Chishi passed away at Dimapur on Tuesday following which various individuals and organizations have conveyed condolences.
NLA Speaker: The Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Speaker, Sharingain Longkumer said that late Yeshito Chishi was a member of the Third Nagaland Legislative Assembly during which he also served as a Minister of State.
“In his death, our State, especially the people of Atoizu, has lost a very committed leader who always worked for the betterment of the poor and the downtrodden sections of the society. His contributions shall always be recognized and remembered,” the Speaker said while conveying condolence and prayed to the Almighty to give strength to the bereaved family to bear the loss with courage and fortitude.
NPCC: NPCC President K Therie expressing shock on the demise of his colleague late Yeshito Chishi and stated that he “was an all rounder, a socialite with updated knowledge of national and state politics and was committed to resolve the political problem.”
Therie said, “We share your loss today for in his passing away, Naga society has lost a tall leader and a comforting father figure leaving an irreplaceable vacuum. The contributions he has made not only to the people he represented but to the entire state will be remembered and recounted for generations to come.”
Thenucho: Thenucho Tunyi, former speaker, NLA said that late Yeshito Chishi was a vibrant and energetic man whose enthusiasm towards life and work were his stand out qualities.
“As a politician, he was a man of high caliber, displaying a level of competency that was very much appreciated and admired by his peers. He was a person who could be relied on during times of crisis. Both in his professional and personal life, he showed a stability and sincerity that is often rare. His positional status mattered little to him as evidenced by his willingness to extend his helping hand to people,” Thenuchi said.
He added that Yeshito had a good understanding of the Naga political movement and his contributions are immense. He was selfless and offered his services without hesitation or reservation.
SKK: All Sumi Students' Union (SKK) has also mourned the demise of late Yeshito Chishi who was also the Former President of SKK (1966-77).
Stating late Yeshito N Chishi as one of the most charismatic leaders who have played a key role in framing and structuring the growth of SKK into substantial frontal organization, the union said, “He was among the very few dignified, sensible and charming politician. Despite the loss of his physical presence, the tremendous service rendered by him towards the Union shall be honoured and respected throughout generations.”
