DIMAPUR, JUNE 27 (MExN): Congress MLA and former President of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) K.V Pusa has made a request to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio to take up the matter with his counterpart in Assam for the early release of two Viswema villagers who have been taken hostage by Karbi Peoples Liberation Tigers (KPLT) on June 10 from Lungnit Hydro Electric Project, Karbi Anglong Assam. Pusa expressed concern that despite efforts made by several organisations for safe release of two Nagas namely Kelesel Kikhi and Khroviho Kikhi from Viswema village, still they have not been released.
Pusa also made a strong appeal to the KPLT for immediate release of the two Nagas so that mutual understanding and trust among the communities is not disturbed. “Delay in releasing the two abductees may not only create misunderstanding amongst the communities, but would even flare up the situation”, stated Pusa. The Congress MLA also appreciated the efforts of Naga organisations like Naga Hoho, Naga Students Federation, Angami Public Organisation, Naga Mothers Association, Angami Youth Organisation, Angami Women Association, and several other organisations for the safe release of the two Nagas.
