‘Conservation of forest is protecting God’s work’: PCCF & HoFF Nagaland

Dimapur, October 6 (MExN): In continuation to the celebration of 69th National Wildlife Week, State Environment & Forestry Training Institute (SEFTI), Dimapur organised a programme with Dharmemdra Prakash, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Head of Forest Force (PCCF & HoFF) Nagaland, as the guest of honour on October 6. 

In his address, the PCCF & HoFF Nagaland reiterated that “conservation of forest is protecting God’s work.” He said that the Forest department alone cannot accomplish any progress in conservation unless there is people’s participation. He encouraged the 12th batch Forester I trainees currently undergoing training in SEFTI to keep themselves updated with the current changes happening in the field and around the world. “The role of each individual in the department is important,” he affirmed.

The PCCF & HoFF was accompanied by Raj Priy, CF (RPU), Beizo Suokhrie, DFO Dimapur, Aochuba, Director, Intanki National Park (INP) and Sunep, ACF, stated a press release issued by the SEFTI Dimapur. 

INP, Director, Aochuba gave a short speech explaining the work done in Intanki National Park, the MOU signed between the 16 villages and the Forest Department working towards conservation and protection of the National park.

The programme was chaired by Raj Priy (CF, RPU); welcome address by Shakiba M Yimchunger, Director, SEFTI and vote of thanks by Imtitongdang Ozukum. 

Earlier, the trainees participated in a painting competition under the theme ‘Partnerships for wildlife conservation.’ Prize distribution was done during the function.
