Consumer awareness events held across Noklak district

Noklak, April 7 (MExN): A series of consumer awareness programmes were conducted across Noklak district from April 5 to 7 under the initiative of the Department of Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection, Tuensang.

The programmes were held at CBC Noklak, Council Hall Pangsha, and Government High School Noklak, focusing on the theme “Accurate Measurement, Safe Products – Confident Consumers.”

The first programme was held on April 5 at CBC Noklak, chaired by Naro, Secretary of CBC. Invocation was pronounced by Bunyi, Pastor of CBC Noklak, who also delivered the welcome address. The keynote address on the theme was presented by C Chullen Chang, Assistant Controller, Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection, Tuensang. The programme concluded with closing remarks by Yemjong B N Chang, Senior Inspector of the department.

 

On April 6, a similar programme was conducted at the Council Hall, Pangsha, chaired by HamoMeya. Invocation was led by D Pungom, Pastor, WNBC, while Thango, VCC Pangsha Old, delivered the welcome address. C Chullen Chang addressed the gathering on consumer rights, accurate measurement practices, and the importance of ensuring product safety. The vote of thanks was delivered by Yemjong B N Chang.

The final programme was held on April 7 at Government High School Noklak. The session reiterated the importance of consumer awareness, fair trade practices, and the role of citizens in ensuring accountability in the marketplace.

Speakers across the programmes stated that consumers should remain vigilant, check proper weights and measures, and verify product standards before purchase. The initiative aimed to equip consumers with knowledge and promote confidence in everyday transactions.

The programmes concluded with interactive discussion sessions followed by light refreshments.
